Small World Cabaret Club featuring Teatro Che y Moche
| October 26, 2010 | ||
| 7:30 pm | to | 11:00 pm |
Small World Theatre is launching a series of monthly cabaret nights with the smouldering Spanish Gypsy music of Teatro Che y Moche supported by our house band, house wine, tapas, the Sinkoplaters and much more. The whole evening is introduced by the loquacious lips of ‘Beyond Compere’.
Teatro Che y Moche, one of Spain’s leading street theatre companies arrives in Cardigan with their award winning new work. Drawing on the universal language of theatre and inspired by Eastern European and gypsy music traditions, the actor/ musicians are led by Ukranian virtuoso violinist Teresa Polyvka.
Their act invites you to their crazy party, to hear the entertaining and boisterous tale of their grandfather’s burial. Music, theatre interaction and mayhem combine in this spectacular show for all the family.

Cardigan Quays Festival
| August 20, 2010 | to | August 22, 2010 |
This is a moment. And we are going to celebrate it like no other point in our history. The Cardigan Quays Festival (Aug 20-21st) will see to that. You will see a celebration of our past, and just as important, our future.
You will see the tallest human powered puppet. Watch power boats and human powered ones. And be able to taste our local artisan food, and freshly caught fish. And learn how our local craftsmen make their wares. And at the end of day, you can see some of the best local bands and drink the best local beers while watching The River Teifi flowing gently down to the open sea.

Aberystwyth MusicFest International Festival and Summer School 2010

Arfordir ysblennydd Bae Ceredigion yng Ngorllewin Cymru yw’r cefndir gwych i’r wythnos ysbrydoledig hon o Fyw gyda Cherddoriaeth. Mae MusicFest Aberystwyth yn gyfuniad hudolus o Wyl Gerdd ac Ysgol Haf; o brofi a dysgu; o berfformio a gwerthfawrogi. Mae cynnwys y gynulleidfa, y myfyriwr a’r artist yn eu tro yn creu awyrgylch cymunedol unigryw yr Wyl - mae’n ‘adfywiol, yn rhoi boddhad ac yn gwbl ysbrydoledig’.
Mae’r Ysgol Haf yn unigryw gan ei bod yn cynnig cyfleoedd ac hyfforddiant disgybledig a strwythuredig ym maes cerddoriaeth siambr, yn ogystal a phrofiadau dysgu gwych trwy’r rhaglen o gyngherddau a gyflwynir gan y tiwtoriaid eu hunain (fel artistiaid preswyl maent i gyd yn berfformwyr blaenllaw yn ogystal ag athrawon dawnus). Yn seiliedig ar y syniad o ‘ddysgu trwy wrando, ymarfer a pherfformio’ trefnir cyrsiau gyda pedwarawd llinynnol, clarinet, sacsoffon, composition, brass, percussion a piano. Trwy gydol yr wythnos bydd yr artistiaid preswyl yn hyfforddi’r grwpiau, yn arwain gweithdai, yn cyflwyno dosbarthiadau meistr ac yn perfformio yn y cyngherddau. Mae’r myfyrwyr hefyd yn cael y cyfle i berfformio’n gyhoeddus ac i fynychu yn rhad ac am ddim holl weithgareddau’r wyl. Am wythnos gyfan mae pawb yn byw, yn anadlu ac yn breuddwydio cerddoriaeth!
Mae’r cyngherddau dyddiol, amser cinio a min nos, yn ogystal a’r perfformiadau gan y myfyrwyr yn y cyntedd a’r cyngherddau o safon uchel ar ddiwedd yr wythnos, yn ein hatgoffa sut mae gwrando ar gerddoriaeth fyw dda yn medru adnewyddu’r enaid a’r corff.Booking
